Data cleansing can be used to tidy up data with typographical errors, raw data or any databases. The errors are recognised by an advanced OCR engine which validates and corrects entered values against a known list of existing data types.
The data validation process may be strict, for example, rejecting any address that does not have a valid postal code or fuzzy match such as correcting records that partially match existing known records. The rules can be defined according to the level of cleansing or data validation as required. This often works well for newly scanned documents.
